A former Creek County insurance agent has been charged with three felony counts claiming she failed to buy insurance policies after seniors paid her for coverage, the state Insurance Department said.

Donna Parrick, of Depew, was charged with exploitation of an elderly person, embezzlement and violation of the Oklahoma Licensed Producer Act, the agency said.

The daughter of an 80-year-old woman learned that the policy her mother paid Parrick for did not exist, the agency said. The department accuses Parrick of trying to persuade the 80-year-old woman's daughter not to report the incident.

Parrick also is accused of conducting insurance business after her license was suspended. She was charged with embezzlement in a separate case that also involved an accusation of failing to buy an insurance policy after receiving payment.
