More details on 8th annual ComicsPRO meeting

by Matthew Price Published: February 26, 2014

The ComicsPRO annual members meeting will start in earnest tomorrow, with a meet-and-greet among members set for tonight.

Thomas Gaul, the president of ComicsPRO’s board of directors, let me know that he welcomes member and non-member stores to the annual meeting, which features opportunities to interact with 30 of the comics’ market’s top vendors.

“I want to let retailers know that you don’t have to be a member to get in on this,” Gaul said.  “If any of this interests non-member stores, they can head over to and take a look at the details. Whether someone has been on the fence about joining the organization, or just wants to know more about what we do, this could be a great opportunity to give it a test drive. No pressure to join; We just want as many comics retailers as possible to come hang with us, meet a bunch of great retailers, take it all in, and hopefully have some fun.”

Retailers looking to join in at the last minute should e-mail marco (at)

The following is the news release from ComicsPRO about this year’s meeting:

The ComicsPRO Annual Membership Meeting is recognized as perhaps the most

important annual retailer gathering in the industry. Retailers, publishers,

distributors and vendors gather to discuss major industry issues and to develop

ways to improve the comic book specialty market. All retailers and vendors

interested in reaching comic book retailers are invited. ComicsPRO members also

use this meeting as an opportunity to discuss the organization’s current

projects and plans.

ComicsPRO is a non-profit trade association dedicated to the health and progress

of direct market comic book retailers. ComicsPRO allows retailers to speak with

a unified voice on important industry issues, provides educational and mentoring

opportunities to current and future retailers, and provides ways for members to

reduce the fixed costs we all incur.
