Forecasters issued a freezing fog advisory for most of the state that expired at noon, but low-lying clouds are preventing any sunshine from poking through. Much of central and northern Oklahoma may stay near or below freezing as a result, much like Sunday.

Sunday's early forecasts called for highs Sunday in the mid 30s and today in the low 40s in the Oklahoma City area. But weather officials said the freezing fog kept daytime highs in the 20s on Sunday, and adjusted forecasts for today to the mid-30s.

Southwestern Oklahoma, where last week's deadly winter storm hit hardest, could see daytime highs in the upper 30s and low 40s today, forecasters said.

Overcast skies with freezing fog at night and in the morning are possible through Tuesday, and a slight chance for rain amid slightly warmer temperatures begins Wednesday and lasts through Friday, according to the weather service. Freezing rain and drizzle is possible in northern Oklahoma.

Thousands still without power

More than 78,670 utility customers in Oklahoma remained without power this morning, down from a total of nearly 200,000 late last week, officials said.
