A former Oklahoma police captain convicted of manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a teenager is scheduled to be formally sentenced.
Former Del City Police Capt. Randy Trent Harrison was convicted by an Oklahoma County jury of the March 14, 2012, shooting death of Dane Scott Jr. The victim was shot in the back following a high-speed chase that began when Harrison tried to pull over Scott’s car.
Jurors recommended a four-year prison sentence. District Judge Donald Deason is scheduled to sentence Harrison on Wednesday.
Deason has also scheduled a hearing on Harrison’s motion for a new trial. Defense attorneys allege there was misconduct on the part of the jury that convicted Harrison and details of juror
Texas firm recalls beef
A Texas beef purveyor that distributes in Oklahoma announced the recall of more than 15,000 pounds of beef Tuesday. PFP Enterprises is recalling about 15,865 pounds of beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced.
The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “Est. 34715” inside the USDA Mark of Inspection. The products were produced Dec. 5.
