An Oklahoma City K9 officer is on administrative leave after a 30-minute pursuit ended with the driver stabbing the police dog that apprehended him. The driver was fatally shot by the officer, Oklahoma City police Capt. Dexter Nelson said.

An elementary school bus driver was arrested Wednesday morning on complaints of lewd acts with a child and possessing and distributing child pornography, the Oklahoma County sheriff’s office reported. Scott Keith Jepson, 32, of Logan County, is a bus driver for the Edmond School District, authorities said.

The number of applications for concealed or unconcealed firearms will likely dip after two record-breaking years of applications. More than 53,300 people applied for a handgun license in 2013, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
