Trent Shadid is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. He was born and raised in Weatherford, Okla., and attended Weatherford High School. Before joining The Oklahoman, he spent two seasons as an assistant wrestling coach at Weatherford High School.

    Putnam City’s Keegan Moore, Heritage Hall’s Kaden Gfeller and Sand Springs’ Daton Fix all won titles in their weight class at the FloNationals wrestling tournament on Friday. Moore, a senior who has signed with West Virginia, won the 132-pound title with a 10-8 win over Jaydin Clayton (Missouri). Moore was a state champion in 2013 and a runner-up in 2014. He did not compete for the Pirates last season while recovering from a hip injury. Gfeller defeated the tournament’s defending champion, Devin Schroder (Michigan), 3-1 in the title match at 113 pounds.
