Bryan Painter, assistant local editor, has 31 years’ experience in journalism, including 22 years with the state's largest newspaper, The Oklahoman. In that time he has covered such events as the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and the May 3, 1999 tornado outbreak resulting in more than 40 deaths. He has extensive experience in human interest stories and coverage of victims, striving to stress the importance of the individual behind the numbers.
“I have always considered myself a pastor first and a preacher second. The ministry of presence is being with those who are going through difficult times. Every Christian can share in the ministry of presence,” the Rev. Dennis Clark of Guthrie said.
Carolyn Glover, a Norman 911 dispatcher, said, “We are a team. We work with the fire department, with the police department, with EMStat, with animal welfare, and yes with the citizens. This is not a profession of ‘me’ or ‘I,’ it is a professional team that has to work together. I love the work I do as much today as I ever have.’’

Hiba Jameel, raised in Baghdad, Iraq, now resides in Edmond and works in volunteer services in the Central and Western Oklahoma Region of the American Red Cross. She is responsible for recruiting volunteers and placing them in positions.
