    Just more than a year after groundbreaking, the $125 million GE Global Research Oil and Gas Technology Center is becoming part of downtown Oklahoma City’s skyline.   • Oklahoma's top seismologist accepts USGS New Mexico job

    The Oklahoma state seismologist has confirmed plans to leave the job for a position with the United States Geological Survey in New Mexico. Austin Holland said he accepted a tentative offer with the USGS as a supervisory geophysicist at the Albuquerque Seismic Lab. Holland said the main reason for the move was to change his family dynamics. "I have averaged about 80 hours each week for the 5 1/2 years I've been here," Holland said Monday in an emailed statement. "I want to change my work-life balance, and this opportunity is a good way to do that."
