The Oklahoma History Center will host a panel discussion titled "Black Towns Then ... Black Towns Now" at 7 p.m. June 30.
The event is also the public’s last chance to see the Coltrane Group's exhibit “Colored Memories: Historic Colorized Photos of Life in ‘The Crown Jewel’” at the History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive.
The event is free. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Moderator for the panel discussion will be state Rep. George Young. Panelists will include all-black town government representatives and scholars.
The scholars include authors Hannibal Johnson, Linda Reese, Harold Aldridge and Judge Henrietta Hicks.
