Oklahoma State’s 2015 basketball recruiting class received a needed jolt Wednesday, with five-star point guard Jawun Evans committing to the Cowboys.
A 6-foot senior at Dallas Kimball High, Evans announced his decision via ESPN.com.
He is a consensus pick as one of the nation’s premier point guards, rated as the No. 3 point by Scout.com. Some recruiting analysts consider Evans to be the top player overall in Texas.
“The No. 1 asset that he brings is speed,” Scout.com analyst Brian Snow wrote in a pre-decision primer on Evans. “There might not be a faster player in the country getting baseline-to-baseline with the basketball than Evans.

Oklahoma State landed another offensive lineman in the Class of 2015 on Monday, as three-star tackle Joshua Jones committed to the Cowboys.
Jones (Bush HS/Richmond, Texas) announced his commitment via Twitter on Monday. The 6-foot-6, 271 pounder has offers from TCU, Nebraska, and Texas Tech among other schools.
Jones is the eighth committment in the 2015 class for the Cowboys, and the second on the offensive line, joining fellow Texas lineman Johnny Wilson (Midland Christian).
Jones is rated a three-star offensive lineman by both Rivals.com and ESPN.com.

Oklahoma State opened its doors for fans –and recruits – to the Orange Blitz on Saturday.
The blitz continued Sunday, with the Cowboys picking up a 2015 commitment from running back Ronald Jones, a four-star recruit from McKinney North High School in McKinney, Texas.
Jones, who attended Saturday’s practice/scrimmage, told GoPokes.com that after recently narrowing his list of schools to eight, OSU had emerged No. 1.
“I knew because I felt the most at home there with my experience,” Jones told the website. “I had the best relations with the coaching staff up there. It was just the best of everything for me.”
