    Oklahoma picked up another commitment Satuday for the Class of 2015 in wide receiver John Humphrey Jr. (Clear Falls HS/League City, Texas). Humphrey has offers from school such as Notre Dame, Arkansas, Baylor, Clemson, Missouri and Nebraska, among others. But the 6-foot, 160 pounder selected the Sooners during his visit to Norman this weekend. Humphrey's pledge gives OU 10 commitments in the Class of 2015. He's rated as a four-star recruit by  ESPN.com and a three-star by Rivals.com .

  • OU football: Sooners in final 5 for top defensive end Keisean Lucier-South

    Defensive end Keisean Lucier-South of Orange, Calif., has Oklahoma in his final five schools, according to ESPN.com. Lucier-South (6-foot-5, 218 pounds), the No. 28 overall recruit in the ESPN 300 for the Class of 2015, has narrowed his list to OU, Florida, Michigan, Oregon and UCLA. Lucier-South has consistently mentioned OU, Florida and Oregon as favorites, according to Erik McKinney of ESPN.com. Lucier-South says he plans to visit all five schools. Lucier-South is rated as the No. 6 defensive end nationally by ESPN, and is the No. 2 DE and a four-star prospect according to Rivals.com. In addition to his top five, he has offers from Alabama, USC, Texas, Florida State, LSU and Notre Dame, among others.

    NORMAN — Norman Police and the University of Oklahoma athletics department are investigating an alleged assault near the OU campus involving a Sooner football player. Norman police responded to the incident at Pickleman’s Gourmet Cafe in Norman just after 2:30 a.m. Friday morning. No arrests were made. The police report doesn't name the player or players involved. An OU athletics spokesman said the department is aware of the situation and is conducting its own internal investigation. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

    NORMAN — Oklahoma’s recruiting momentum continued Wednesday when defensive end Kenneth Mann committed to the Sooners. OU has now received two defensive line commitments in three days and picked up five overall commitments in the past two months. Mann (6-foot-4, 240 pounds) is rated as a two-star recruit by Rivals.com and had offers that included Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Iowa, Wake Forest and Cal among others. The commitment was first reported by TheFootballBrainiacs.com. The Burleson, Texas, product received an offer from the Sooners last week and committed during a visit to Norman. Mann is the Sooners’ ninth commitment overall, the third on the defensive line and the sixth from Texas.

    NORMAN — Oklahoma’s strong June recruiting push continued Thursday when the Sooners picked up a commitment from guard Dominique Hearne. Hearne (6-foot-3, 288 pounds) announced his commitment on Twitter. The three-star prospect is the third commitment in the last nine days for the Sooners. All three are from Texas. Hearne is from Lancaster, Texas. The school is already well-represented on OU’s roster, with alums Quentin Hayes and Dakota Austin playing for the Sooners. While Hearne didn’t go through drills during the Sooners’ camp over the weekend, he came to Norman to get a feel for the coaches and players. He is the seventh commitment for the 2015 class for the Sooners.

    NORMAN — Pflugerville (Texas) Hendrickson has once again proven fruitful for Oklahoma football. Four-star cornerback P.J. Mbanasor committed to the Sooners on Tuesday, becoming OU’s fifth commit for the 2015 class. The former TCU commit announced his decision on Twitter, posting “Let’s gooooo! I’m done! #BlessedBoomer.” He chose the Sooners over a final group that included six other schools—Florida, LSU, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Mbanasor (6-foot-1, 180 pounds) is the second Hendrickson player to commit to the Sooners in as many years. Running back Samaje Perine committed to the Sooners in March 2013 and signed with the Sooners in February. Mbanasor is the No. 232
