Ryan Aber has worked for The Oklahoman since 2006, covering high schools, the Oklahoma City RedHawks, the Oklahoma City Barons and OU football recruiting. An Oklahoma City native, Aber graduated from Northeastern State. Before joining The Oklahoman, Aber worked for the Muskogee Phoenix, Southwest Times-Record in Fort Smith, Ark., and the Morning News of Northwest Arkansas.

    Oklahoma senior cornerback Julian Wilson, who was replaced late in the season by freshman Jordan Thomas, will miss the Russell Athletic Bowl after separating his shoulder in practice Monday. Thomas will start at the spot opposite Zack Sanchez. Wilson suffered a broken thumb in the loss to Baylor and has seen only limited time since and has struggled when he’s played. Also out for the Dec. 29 bowl game is senior linebacker Geneo Grissom, who suffered a knee injury in the win over Texas Tech in mid-November. “Geneo Grissom is probably a week or 10 days short of his target date to return to play,” Sooners coach Bob Stoops said.
