  • Twitter celebrates 8th birthday, allows users to search for first tweets

    Twitter is celebrating its upcoming 8th birthday by allowing users to search for their first tweets. The company has launched the site First-Tweets.com, which has a simple search bar and the option to tweet out your first post. People are also encouraged to use the tag #FirstTweet. Here's mine: I am frustrated with twitter phone device settings; however, exicted about the upcoming election.     Mustang students are rallying around their middle school science teacher who was diagnosed with cancer in May 2013. A group of students have created an inspirational letter in the form of a YouTube video, encouraging Mustang teacher Marshall Lauen to stay strong and continue to fight the disease.

This 10-year-old has a powerful voice and is showcasing it in her cover of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep.” The video has been making the rounds online and already has more than 20,000 views on YouTube.

  • Oklahoma cheerleading group receives support through social media after gym fire

    A Miami, Okla. cheerleading organization, known as Miami Elite, is getting support on social media from other cheer groups across the country after its gym was damaged in a fire Wednesday morning. The group posted on its Facebook page that it is currently in the process of assessing the damage. // Post by Miami Elite. The Twitter account @CheerUpdates, which has 95,000 followers, tweeted out the news, causing others to spread the word and send their support to the organization. Prayers to Miami Elite of Oklahoma, the program has lost its gym to a fire.

    Will the days of banked track roller derby in Oklahoma soon be over? Not if the OKC Outlaws have anything to say about it. The state’s only banked track team has launched an Indiegogo campaign to save its track, which was featured in Drew Barrymore’s 2009 film “Whip It.” The track is currently owned by a group of investors.
