Two running backs with Oklahoma ties are in the finals of the cover vote for the EA Sports video game Madden 25. Barry Sanders, who attended Oklahoma State University and played for the Detroit Lions, is one finalist. Adrian Peterson, who attended the University of Oklahoma and plays for the Minnesota Vikings, is the other finalist. More info from EA: Today ESPN SportsNation announced that Barry Sanders will face Adrian Peterson in the final round of the Madden NFL 25 Cover Vote. The stage is set for an epic showdown as two of the greatest running backs of all time square-off.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment announced today new installments in the “Batman: Arkham” video game series. “Batman: Arkham Origins” will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, the Wii U, and Windows PC. “Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate” will be available for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system, and PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system. Both titles are scheduled to release worldwide Oct. 25, 2013. Sony announces PS4, latest in line of PlayStation consoles

After a longer-than-usual development cycle, Sony today announced the latest iteration of its PlayStation line of consoles. The PS4 is set for release this holiday season. The PS4 runs an x86 processor, PC Mag reports, with an enhanced PC GPU. It will have 8GB of high-speed unified memory, as well as system memory backed by local storage. The system will sport a new, more ergonomic controller, and social-media sharing abilities. But in the age of tablets, is a new console a must-buy? Mark Rogowsky at Forbes writes that today’s announcement was missing a key ingredient to spur console sales, which have slipped in recent years.

If you go Chance Thomas will visit Oklahoma City University Chance Thomas will visit Oklahoma City University on Friday. In addition to meeting with students, Thomas will host a master class about composing for video games from 10 a.m. to noon. The class will be in the Margaret E. Petree Recital Hall on the southwest corner of NW 25 and Blackwelder Avenue. At 8 p.m., one of Thomas' compositions will be performed in the Burg Theatre in the Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Center, just west of the Petree Recital Hall. The Project 21 event also will feature the work of OCU student composers. The class and performance are free and open to the public.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service must come up with a better solution to a questionable pricing structure affecting Gamefly's video game DVDs and Netflix's movie DVDs, a federal appeals court said Friday. Gamefly, which sends rental video games DVDS, must pay extra to mail its rental DVDs because they can be damaged by automatic mail sorting systems for first-class mail. But DVDs sent by Netflix Inc., which rents movie, TV shows and documentary DVDs by mail, don't go through the automated sorting process and it doesn't pay extra for hand-sorting.
