Woods, who missed the U.S. team’s win at the Ryder Cup last year because of knee surgery, made the clinching putt in Sunday’s 19 1/2-14 1/2 win over an International team in San Francisco.

Montgomerie said Monday that no European had achieved a perfect five points in the Ryder Cup. His team will host the Ryder Cup next year at Celtic Manor in Wales.

Montogomrie said it will be difficult enough for Europe to regain the Ryder Cup even if Woods is not on top of his game.

Tyson fears finding out cause of daughter’s death
Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson says he doesn’t want to know what led to his 4-year-old daughter’s death.

During an interview on "The Oprah Winfrey Show” that aired Monday, Tyson called his daughter Exodus "my angel.” Exodus died at a Phoenix hospital on May 26, a day after her neck apparently was caught in a treadmill cord.

Tyson told Winfrey that he didn’t want to know details of her death because "if somebody’s to blame for it there will be a problem.” The former boxer said his first instinct was rage but that now he has no animosity or anger toward anyone.

Mine That Bird headed for Classic

But they’ve decided to try the $5 million Classic, and Calvin Borel will remain as Mine That Bird’s rider.

AC Milan: Beckham loan ‘probable’
AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani says it’s "very probable” that David Beckham will join the club on loan again in January. Speaking at a meeting in Monaco, according to the ANSA news agency, Galliani said: "It’s very probable that Beckham will come to Milan on loan until June 30, but I don’t consider anything done until there’s a signature.”

Tim Leiweke, the chief executive of Anschutz Entertainment Group, which owns the Galaxy, said last week he wants the deal for Beckham’s return to Milan to be completed within two weeks.
