YOUNG TO START AT QB FOR TITANS
Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams wants more of Vince Young. He’s getting just that with his winless team switching from veteran Kerry Collins back to the 2006 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Coach Jeff Fisher announced that the former Texas star would start Sunday’s game against Jacksonville. Fisher insists it was an organizational decision resulting from the team’s winless start, but Adams said after a 59-0 loss at New England that he wanted Young to start.
KNIGHT TURNS DOWN INDIANA
Former Indiana basketball coach Bob Knight will not attend next week’s ceremonies in which he is to be inducted into the athletic department’s hall of fame.
Athletic director Fred Glass said Knight contacted him directly to decline the invitation. Glass said Knight was concerned that the interest in him would be a distraction from the other six inductees.
