Most doctors won't tell you that you drink too much

It’s apparently unlikely that you’ll get an intervention from your doctor about your drinking habits.

Only one of six U.S. adults, including binge drinkers, reported ever discussing alcohol consumption with a health professional, according to this report.

That data was released today in a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Oklahoma was one of a handful of states that didn’t have enough data to analyze. However, you can take a peek at the states around us.

In Arkansas, only about 13 percent of adults reported having discussed alcohol use with a doctor or other health professional. In Kansas, that number was only 9 percent. But in Texas, that number was a bit higher, with about 15 percent of adults having discussed alcohol use with a medical professional.
