It’s apparently unlikely that you’ll get an intervention from your doctor about your drinking habits.

Only one of six U.S. adults, including binge drinkers, reported ever discussing alcohol consumption with a health professional, according to this report.

That data was released today in a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Oklahoma was one of a handful of states that didn’t have enough data to analyze. However, you can take a peek at the states around us.

In Arkansas, only about 13 percent of adults reported having discussed alcohol use with a doctor or other health professional. In Kansas, that number was only 9 percent. But in Texas, that number was a bit higher, with about 15 percent of adults having discussed alcohol use with a medical professional.

Meanwhile, Oklahomans do have a bit of a problem with their binge drinking habits, which you can read about in a previous blog post.
