Mostly pleasant weather expected today and this week in Oklahoma
Published: October 26, 2009
Weather this week in Oklahoma should be similar to what state residents experienced last week, as mostly sunny skies and mild daytime temperatures will begin and end the week with a chance for showers in the middle.
Daytime highs are expected to range from the upper 50s to 70s for most of the state this week, according to the National Weather Service. The highest chance for rain begins Wednesday and could last until early Friday in some areas. Severe storms are not expected.
But despite the pleasant daytime weather, the chance for early-morning frost will only increase from here on out, forecasters said. Long nights and calm winds could allow the temperature to dip close to freezing on some nights, meaning plants sensitive to the cold should be protected if possible.
Oklahoma City-area forecast
- Today: Mostly cloudy. High near 58. North winds around 18 mph, gusting to 25 mph. Thirty percent chance of showers before 1 p.m.
- Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Low around 42. North winds 6 to 9 mph becoming calm.
- Tuesday: Mostly sunny. High near 66. Light winds becoming south 15 to 18 mph, gusting to 25 mph.
- Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy. Low around 51. South-southeast winds 10 to 18 mph, gusting to 25 mph.
