Owners of Movers Real Estate Co. and Speech Pathway started construction this week on a new building at 6905 NW 122.
Becky Ivins, owner of Movers since 1979, and her daughter, Emily Hathaway, owner of Speech Pathway, will occupy the 5,850-square-foot building, which will include two 1,225-square-foot retail spaces for lease. The general contractor is Alliance Property Development. The architect is Alisa Weatherman. Financing was by James Presley at First Citizens Bank.
Ivins' professional designations include SRES, Senior Real Estate Specialist, and MRP, Military Relocation Professional.
“I delight in transitioning seniors from their homes that have become too much to maintain into independent living or assisted living,” she said. “With two active-duty sons, I have firsthand knowledge of how important real estate professionals are when military families buy or sell in our area.”
Speech Pathway is a private speech therapy practice specializing in pediatrics with seven licensed therapists in addition to Hathaway. Expansion will allow the practice to include social language groups and individual therapy including articulation, auditory processing, receptive and expressive language, fluency and reading comprehension. The additional office space also will allow Emily's husband, artist Kent Hathaway, to incorporate art as a tool in the speech therapy practice.
