The movie Paul is an entertaining film about an alien who is trying to escape from the government. He befriends two men from England who are traveling through the western part of the United States in a recreational vehicle to tour alien landing sites. The two men and a girl named Ruth, who later joins them, try to help Paul escape from the government agents who are trailing them.

I would give this movie 2½ out of 5 stars.

This movie had many funny parts and good comic timing. It was also good at tying in sci-fi references from other shows or books. The parts of this movie that were less than good, such as the parts with cussing and smoking, were overdone. I felt like I was watching teenagers who looked like adults. It also portrayed a Christian man — Ruth's father — as a crazy, gun-toting hick. That bugged me because many Christians are not like that, and it serves no purpose to further that idea.

Overall, I would say that “Paul” is a good movie to see if you want a good laugh, but do not expect to get much more out of it.
