Movie theater multiplex reopens in Windsor Hills Shopping Center
A long-vacant movie theater space in Windsor Hills Shopping Center reopens today as the B&B Windsor 10.
Formerly known as the Windsor Hills Cinemas, 4625 NW 23, the 10-screen multiplex will show first-run films and is newly equipped in select auditoriums with digital 3-D projectors, stadium seating with high back rocker seats, wall-to-wall curved screens and digital surround sound. The new ownership company launched the operation Thursday night with a midnight screening of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon.” B&B Theatres is a family owned and operated company specializing in movie houses in medium-sized cities, according to information on its Web site, bbtheatres.com. In business since 1924, the firm operates 200 theater screens in Florida, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. The 22,000-square-foot theater space in Windsor Hills was built in 1974. Previous owners were Knoxville, Tenn.,-based Regal Cinemas Inc., which offered first-run movies, and the Hawaii-based Western Pacific Theater Group, which operated the multiplex as a second-run "dollar movie” house. Windsor 10 management was unavailable for interviews Thursday. If you prefer your thoughts to appear in The Oklahoman's Opinion section, we encourage you to submit a letter to the editor.
