BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Montana State football coach Rob Ash has announced the hiring of two assistants, including former quarterback Cody Kempt.

Kempt, who played at Oregon and then at MSU from 2008-10, returns to Bozeman to coach the wide receivers. Kempt was an intern at Montana State and then a graduate assistant at Cincinnati and last year at Tennessee.

Ash also announced the hiring of former UCLA fullback Michael Pitre as running backs coach. Pitre played for UCLA from 2003-07, was a three-year starter and twice earned honorable mention all-Pac 10 honors. He was a high school teacher and assistant coach for three years and spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at Colorado.
