HELENA — Sex offender Timothy Dunivan has been identified as the inmate who was killed Saturday at the James Crabtree Correctional Center.
Dunivan, 61, was assaulted by another inmate with a sharpened, knife-like weapon early Saturday, said state Corrections Department spokesman Jerry Massie. Dunivan was serving three consecutive 50-year sentences for sexually abusing a minor.
Massie would not release the name of the inmate who prison officials believe killed Dunivan, but did say that inmate has been transferred to the maximum-security Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.
No charges for the homicide had been filed in Alfalfa County as of Monday.
