KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is opening an exhibition featuring the work of illustrators for children's books.

The museum says its Fantastic Rumpus exhibition includes 120 illustrations by more than 30 artists. An opening event is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Author and illustrator Matt Faulkner will be on hand to read from his book "The Monster Who Ate My Peas," talk about his career and create some drawings.

The Fantastic Rumpus exhibition is based on the components identified with Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are."

The exhibition runs through Feb. 9.
