Edmond museum has fundraising wine event

EDMOND — While some winemakers may serve no wine before its time, the Edmond Historical Society & Museum will serve popular varietals during its first "Wine Through Time” fundraiser Nov. 12.

→The Edmond Historical Society & Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Jena Mottola, the museum’s executive director said, "It’s been a long time since we’ve done a big event fundraiser.”

The evening of fine wine, food, desserts and entertainment also includes a live and silent auction to benefit the museum.

Guests can try wines such as chardonnay, merlot, shiraz and pinot noir, provided by Premium Brands Wine & Spirits.

Gourmet food is provided by Boulevard Steakhouse and Cafe 501, Cafe do Brazil, Charleston’s, Deep Fork Grill and The Mantel, Kang’s Asian Bistro, Lottinville’s Wood Grill and Othello’s, with desserts by Gypsy Cakes.

Mottola said auctioneer Pat Patterson will conduct the live auction.

"We have prizes including a stay in Cancun, Mexico, a one-year membership to the YMCA and some advertising opportunities for businesses.”

The silent auction includes a variety of spa, music, wine and golfing packages. "We have a ‘Twilight’ gift basket, which is hugely popular, and a self defense package,” Mottola said.

The fundraiser will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Edmond Historical Society & Museum, 431 S Boulevard. Classical guitarist Stephanie Jackson will perform.

All proceeds benefit museum exhibits and programs, Mottola said.
