CHICAGO (AP) — The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago will receive a nearly $450,000 federal grant to bolster its science education programs for teachers.

The museum is one of eight institutions to receive an environmental literacy grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA. It will pay for science teacher education coursework. Museum officials say they'll use the "Earth Revealed" exhibit to share teaching techniques for climate change and Earth sciences.

The museum has earned another distinction too. It has been named one of three innovation incubators as part of the Art of Science Learning Initiative, funded by the National Science Foundation.
