Monday night the board heard presentations from four architectural firms, each outlining what services they could offer the district as it looks to give the high school’s campus a makeover. The school consists of a network of more than a dozen buildings.
After listening to more than an hour’s worth of presentations, board members voted to delay picking an architectural firm until they had time to review all of their options.
In other business, the board approved a $148,700 bid from the Trane Co. to install a new cooling tower at Mustang North Middle School. The current tower — installed when the school was built in the 1980s — is operating only at 50 percent capacity, said Ron Martin, the district’s director of operations. Bond funds will pay for the new construction.
The board also approved spending $2,590 for new cheerleading costumes for Mustang North Middle School. Funds to pay for the new outfits will come out of the middle school’s cheerleading activity account and the general activity account.
