The Myriad Botanical Gardens and the newly formed OKC Urban Ag Coalition, a group dedicated to contributing to the health of Oklahomans and the environment at large, will present a film series designed to raise public awareness on the benefits of urban agriculture, saving water and preserving biodiversity.

“We’ve noticed a movement towards urban farming and a growing demand for locally grown food across the U.S. and throughout Oklahoma,” said Kathryn Gant, co-chair for the OKC Urban Ag Coalition. “This film series is our way of responding to that movement and inspiring and educating the public on how to participate.”

“More Than Honey,” “Symphony of the Soil” and “Growing Cities” are acclaimed documentary films that promise to take viewers into the changing landscape of modern-day agriculture while reminding them of the significance of preservation in an age of rapid globalization.
