Naked Iowa escapee recaptured in Oklahoma Published: June 13, 2013

McALESTER -- Walking around town with no clothes on drew attention to an Iowa escapee that resulted in his recapture.

The McAlester News-Capital reports that David William Allison, 49, of Des Moines, was taken into custody after he was spotted without clothes.

He was charged in Pittsburg County District Court with lewd exhibition of a person, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The newspaper reported that Allison told police that someone was following him and because he couldn't find the McAlester police department, he thought being naked in public would bring officers to him.

It did.
