Police said a Spencer man was killed in a weekend shooting in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown district.

Zachary Bowie, 30, was shot outside Club Social, 119 E California Ave. Bowie was taken to OU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police reported.

About 12:40 a.m. Saturday, Oklahoma City Police Bricktown officers heard shots fired in the area of the 100 block of E California, police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

The shooter had been inside Club Social when he was confronted by security and kicked out, Knight said. As the shooter was leaving, he made threats toward security officers. The shooter apparently left for a few minutes then returned to the area with a gun and fired toward a crowd, hitting and killing Bowie.

The shooter has not been identified by investigators. has disabled the comments for this article.
