NASCAR: Muskogee native, brother-in-law of Jimmie Johnson, dies in skydiving accident Published: March 31, 2014

As reported by the Muskogee Phoenix, Muskogee resident Jordan Jor-El Janway, 27, was killed in a skydiving accident near San Diego, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office. He is the brother of Chandra Janway Johnson, wife of six-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson.

Janway graduated from Muskogee High School in the mid 2000s and was a skydiving instructor in San Diego.

The Johnson family released a statement via on Monday.

"The Johnsons are saddened by the tragic passing of Chandra’s brother," the statement said. "Jordan was an incredible son, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed. Please keep the Janway family in your thoughts and prayers."
