The National Tornado Summit is scheduled for Sunday through Tuesday at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City. The intent of the summit is to help improve disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery in order to save lives and property in the United States.

For the public

From 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, the summit will feature a weather fair titled “Our Weather, Your Life” at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City.

This is intended to be an interactive trade show to educate and inform the public about protecting their family and property in the wake of severe weather. The Sunday weather fair is open to the public.

Whether it's a front-row seat at a storm chasing seminar or a moment inside the tornado simulator, there are numerous activities for visitors at Sunday's weather fair. Meteorologists, storm chasers and emergency responders will take turns on the main stage, explaining their role in severe weather preparedness, mitigation and response and sharing dramatic storm videos.

Presenters also will be available to answer questions, take pictures and sign autographs.
