WASHINGTON (AP) — First baseman and outfielder Tyler Moore has been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse by the Washington Nationals, making room on the roster for right-handed pitcher Doug Fister to make his season debut Friday.

Moore's move was announced after Washington's 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

He is 6 for 30, a .200 average, with a double, two homers and three RBIs in 18 games with Washington on 2014, including five starts.

After a day off, the Nationals open a three-game series Friday at the Oakland Athletics, and Fister is slated to come off the 15-day disabled list and make his first start for Washington. He arrived in an offseason trade with the Detroit Tigers, but hurt a back muscle during spring training.

Before Wednesday's game, the Nationals reinstated catcher Wilson Ramos from the 15-day DL and optioned right-hander Blake Treinen to Syracuse.

Playing his first game since opening day, Ramos went 1 for 2 with a double and a go-ahead sacrifice fly. He missed 32 games after breaking a bone in his left wrist on March 31.

"I was waiting for this moment for, like, five weeks," Ramos said. "I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to be back on the team."

Treinen made his first major league start Tuesday night, pitching five innings in an 8-3 loss to the Dodgers.
