Native Australian to share tales, language at libraries

A native speaker of one of the last Aboriginal languages in Australia will perform music and tell stories of his culture at a series of programs this month in the metro area.

Yidumduma Bill Harney will present "Aboriginal Australia — Stories, Music and Images.” Harney speaks the Wardaman language and is a senior custodian of the Wardaman people. Several performances are scheduled: 10:30 a.m. today at The Village Library, 6:30 p.m. today at Del City Library, 7 p.m. Thursday at Edmond Library and 4 p.m. Friday at Warr Acres Library.
