Kevin Durant's “Team Durant” finished second in the Sears Shooting Stars Challenge in the first event of All-Star Saturday Night.

Durant was joined by Karl Malone and Skylar Diggins.

“Team Bosh,” with Chris Bosh, Dominique Wilkins and Swin Cash won for the second straight year.

Throughout the night, Durant and Malone got a chance to chat and get to know each other. Durant loved it.

“Surreal,” Durant described it. “I remember when I was a kid, my aunt, that was her favorite player. She had Karl Malone pictures all over the house. Every time I walked in, that's who I seen. To be able to talk to him and ask him about some of his experiences, it was cool. We said we were going to exchange numbers before we leave, so I'm looking forward to that.”

Malone was just as impressed with Durant.

“I love him,” Malone said. “That's all I'm going to tell you. I love him. I love how he just plays the game. He's a young guy, but he got an old soul that I love … I've had great conversations with him since I've been here. It's been pretty neat to be around him.”

Malone on how much he bench presses now — “Whatever I need to.”
