Adam Silver held court following the NBA’s Board of Governors meeting on Tuesday night. You can view the press conference in its entirety here. Among the topics:

No expansion

My two cents: Any time you have teams with losing records making the playoffs, expansion probably shouldn’t be in the discussion. Too many mediocre teams make the playoffs as is (at least in the Eastern Conference), and the talent gap is wide between the haves and have nots, so let’s keep things as is for now (sorry, Seattle).

No go for Aaron Rodgers (yet)

My two cents: Why not have NFL players as part-owners (while they’re still in the league may be an issue)? The NBA is booming, and NFL quarterbacks with the money to become part-owners would be sexy figureheads to potential free agents. Imagine Sam Bradford owning a chunk of the Oklahoma City Thunder someday, pitching for Blake Griffin to come home (pipe dream, but it’s fun to think about).

An awards show IN SIN CITY

My two cents: YES YES YES! Can you imagine the pageantry and fashion one-upsmanship this would provide us? What would Russell Westbrook wear on the Las Vegas red carpet? Also, it would become an event to rival All-Star Weekend in terms of exclusive VIP parties, and crazy Twitter/Instagram photos.

Sterlings are still around

My two cents: The Sterlings are like the Highlanders. They are really tough to get rid of. Silver went for the head of Donald Sterling at his press conference back in May, but we knew this was going to be a drag-out battle. Let’s hope it gets wrapped up sooner rather than later.

MORE GAMES?!

My two cents: The thought of a midseason tournament is intriguing, but 82 regular-season games (with playoffs for many teams) are already enough.

Would Gregg Popovich just send and entire team of D-League players to the midseason tourney? What if someone important gets hurt for a tournament title that amounts to nothing? If this does happen, shorten the regular season – period. But the owners would never go for this.

(Wait, more games = more butts in seats = more money. The owners WOULD go for this).

Money talks.

More replay help, please

My two cents: This could be good. More eyes on the game as the plays are happening could help replay calls get determined more accurately (From Silver: “In essence, it will give our officials the assistance of a replay center in Secaucus, N.J., where they will be able to cue up the plays, with the best angles on the court.”) . But if we’re going into Thunder-Grizzlies playoffs replay mode, this may take a while – and could bog down the game more. Further analysis needed.

Props to LeBron

My two cents: Sure, why not?
