* Thabo Sefolosha. The Thunder traded a 2009 first-round pick to Chicago for Thabo. It got that first-round pick from Minnesota, along with Chucky Atkins, for Johan Petro and a 2009 second-round pick. So Presti turned Petro and a second-round pick into Sefolosha.
* Daequan Cook & Kendrick Perkins. The Thunder traded a 2010 second-round pick to Miami for Cook and a 2010 first-round pick. The Heat made the lopsided deal to clear cap space for LeBron and Chris Bosh, so it worked out for everybody.
Presti eventually swapped that first-round pick for a future Clippers' first-round pick, which he used in the trade to Boston for Kendrick Perkins.
That's four key players — Ibaka, Perk, Thabo and Cook — acquired for the equivalent of loose change.
“If there's a player on the board that we feel like fits our organization, fits our identity, we'll draft him,” Presti said. “If we feel there's a better way to use our draft pick, we'll look at that.
“But the draft is like a board game where you pass go, and you get a free chance to improve. We've gotta figure out the best way to use that.”
Presti has used his draft picks well. Now he gets the chance to again turn a deuce into an ace.
