NBA Draft: Three trades the Oklahoma City Thunder could explore

Could the Thunder make a trade with the Orlando Magic, Charlotte Bobcats or Atlanta Hawks? Darnell Mayberry breaks down the possibilities.

Why it wouldn't happen: Picks alone might not be enough for the Bobcats, and whomever the Thunder is targeting might already be off the board at No. 4.

What the Thunder would get: The No. 17 and 18 picks.

What the Thunder would give: The No. 12 pick and possibly the No. 29 pick.

Why it could happen: The Hawks could be in love with a player at 12 who might not be available at 17. The Thunder, on the other hand, might not be able to trade up and might not be in love with anyone at 12. It's possible the Thunder sees two players potentially available at 17 and 18 that the team thinks could be just as good as the best player available at 12.

Why it wouldn't happen: Sam Presti has never traded backward on draft night. That could mean something. It could mean nothing. But Presti has a history of being aggressive in the draft, either by moving up or standing pat and taking his man even if the so-called expects say it was a reach.
