During an NBA postgame press conference, Russell Westbrook likes looking fresh, clean — he stays shining, and he's not alone.

The Thunder's Kevin Durant and the Miami Heat's LeBron James and Dwyane Wade habitually appear dashing during press conferences. Wade donned a gold vest and cream shirt for Game 1 of NBA Finals, while James wore a periwinkle suit and pale pink shirt.

But sometimes, Westbrook looks like he just stepped off the set of a Kid Cudi video. Tuesday night, he donned a long-sleeved Prada button-down shirt covered with caricatures of musicians.

When Westbrook sees something he likes, something that speaks to his personality, he picks it up and carries it straight to the cash register. He's known to pay Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys a visit.

The fashion dent he's proud to have punched in the NBA's dress code? His glasses.

“I think everybody else just started wearing them now,” he said.

Westbrook's Ray Ban Wayfarer glasses cost nearly $125.

For many of his press conferences, Westbrook has worn bright red lensless spectacles across his nose. He says he's been wearing his glasses since he began his career in the NBA and joked about having pioneered the fashion trend.

“With the nerd glasses that comes in the NBA, it's just something fun to do right now,” Wade said. “I'm sure next season it'll be out the window.”

The trend has caught on with fans and players alike. But James doesn't think the trend started with Westbrook.

In fact, he's adamant it didn't.
