Rubio to visit USA
→Teenage point guard Ricky Rubio will visit the United States with his mother for a tour that begins June 13. Rubio plans to visit Memphis, Oklahoma City, Sacramento and New York but will not work out for any team.

→Because of salary cap restrictions it might be difficult, but the Cavaliers could pursue Shaquille O’Neal, Tyson Chandler or Rasheed Wallace in a trade after being dominated in the paint by the Magic.

→Because of industry-wide layoffs, fewer U.S. newspapers are covering the NBA Finals, but 250 international journalists covered Game 1 Thursday night at the Staples Center. There’s a separate trailer for TV feeds to 215 countries.

→Lakers forward Lamar Odom will be an unrestricted free agent but has said it would take an incredible offer from another team for him to not re-sign, and that the Lakers will get a discount.

→Denver coach George Karl said point guard Chauncey Billups allowed him to coach for the first time in a few years instead of being a manager who spent much of his time soothing egos.
