The NBA offers media partners, fans and teams access to all kinds of statistics to help tell the story of what happened during games, as well as the league's history. While the advanced optical tracking system is under consideration for the future, there are many ways to analyze games using statistical information already in place and provided by the league.

The NBA unveiled a new website in March, NBA.com/Stats, which now serves as an official source of statistics for the NBA. Advanced statistics let fans run their own deep, custom analyses on NBA players, teams and matchups.

According to the NBA, here are some of the key features from the website:

Every box score in NBA history, beginning with the 1946-47 season.

Video playlists on box scores, play-by-play, statistical reports, etc.

Advanced box scores, official box scores and game books.

Web-based dashboards with unique statistical reports.

Advanced shot charts
