Memphis coach Dave Joerger on the game: “That was a great game to be a part of. The game was never over. A lot of great plays. And not just the ball going in plays. Loose ball, passion playoff basketball. Guys competing. Teams competing. We made some big shots. They made some big shots.”

Thunder guad Russell Westbrook on the Grizzlies’ defensive tactics: “They do a good job of using their hands. We gotta play through it. Still run our stuff. Still compete.”

Joerger on the battles in OKC: “We played a lot of meaningful games and we’ve played a lot of big games in here. And it’s always fun and it’s always a great competition and it always seems like it’s close.”

Westbrook on the loss: “It’s tough. We fought so hard to get in position to get it to overtime. They made plays. We just gotta lock down and get stops when we need.”

Kevin Durant on his wild shot toward the end of regulation: “We lost, so it really don’t matter.”

Durant on the late timeout by Brooks when it looked like OKC might have a fastbreak opportunity: “We got a great stop. It looked like a jump ball and coach wanted to be the first one to call a timeout. It wasn’t a turning point of the game, that’s not why we lost.”
