In the history of the NBA playoffs, only eight out of 210 teams (3.8 percent) have won a best-of-7 playoff series in which they trailed 3-1:

          2006 Phoenix: beat the Los Angeles Lakers in first round; Suns had homecourt advantage. Lost to Dallas in Western Conference Finals.

          2003 Detroit: beat Orlando in first round; Detroit had homecourt advantage. Lost to New Jersey in Eastern Conference Finals.

          1997 Miami: beat New York in East semifinals; Miami had homecourt advantage. Lost to Chicago in East finals.

1995 Houston: beat Phoenix in West semifinals; Rockets did not have homecourt advantage. Went on to win NBA title.

          1981 Boston: beat Philadelphia in East finals; Boston had homecourt advantage. Went on to win NBA title.

1979 Washington: beat San Antonio in East finals; Washington had homecourt advantage. Lost to Seattle in NBA Finals.

1970 Los Angeles Lakers: beat Phoenix in West semifinals; Lakers had homecourt advantage. Lost to New York in NBA Finals.

1968 Boston: beat Philadelphia in East finals; Boston did not have homecourt advantage. Went on to win NBA title.
