1. Miami Heat (62-20)

Additions: Michael Beasley; Greg Oden.

Subtractions: Mike Miller.

NBA Draft: James Ennis.

Comment: A top-heavy Eastern Conference has produced some serious threats to knock off the Heat this season. The key to Miami successfully defending its back-to-back titles will be health.

2. Chicago Bulls (58-24)

Additions: Mike Dunleavy Jr.; Mike James; Dexter Pittman; D.J. White.

Subtractions: Marco Belinelli; Richard Hamilton; Nate Robinson; Malcolm Thomas.

NBA Draft: Tony Snell; Erik Murphy.

Comment: Derrick Rose could be MVP worthy this season after missing all of last year while recovering from a knee injury. He should captain the Bulls back to elite status.

3. Indiana Pacers (55-27)

Additions: Chris Copeland; Luis Scola; Donald Sloan; C.J. Watson.

Subtractions: D.J. Augustin; Gerald Green; Jeff Pendergraph; Miles Plumlee; Sam Young.

NBA Draft: Solomon Hill.

Comment: A dangerous Pacers squad from a year ago returns with more depth and experience this season. They'll be a tough out for anybody.

4. Brooklyn Nets (55-27)

Additions: Alan Anderson; Andray Blatche; Kevin Garnett; Andrei Kirilenko; Shaun Livingston; Paul Pierce; Jason Terry.

Subtractions: Keith Bogans; MarShon Brooks; Kris Humphries; Kris Joseph; Gerald Wallace; C.J. Watson; D.J. White

NBA Draft: Mason Plumlee.
