NBC Universal is providing more than 1,539 hours of coverage of the 2014 Sochi Games, more than coverage of the previous two Winter Olympics combined. Coverage will be spread across five networks — NBC, NBCSN, CNBC, MSNBC and USA Network.

NBCOlympics.com and NBC Sports Live Extra will stream more than 1,000 hours of competition and provide event rewinds and video highlights. NBC executives say the live streaming benefits TV ratings in the long run by stimulating interest in the Games.

*NBC's schedule is divided into three parts — daytime, prime time and late night — for a total of 185 hours over 18 days. Bob Costas will host prime time and late night, becoming U.S. television's first 10-time Olympic prime-time host. Opening ceremonies coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Primetime coverage will include figure skating, short-track speed skating, alpine skiing and snowboarding/freestyle. Daytime coverage will include gold medal finals in 11 of the 15 Winter Olympic sports, including speed skating, short track, snowboarding and hockey.

*NBCSN, a cable sports network distributed to more than 80 million homes, will present more than 230 hours of coverage, including live figure skating for the first time, and serve as the home for Team USA.
