RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina State has hired Gene Hill to its women's basketball staff.

The school announced Thursday that Hill will be an assistant to new coach Wes Moore as well as his recruiting coordinator.

Hill spent the past five seasons as an assistant and director of operations at Georgia Tech.

Moore says Hill's knowledge of the Atlantic Coast Conference and his recruiting ties "should help us tremendously."

Hill was at Butler before joining the Yellow Jackets and was East Carolina's interim head coach in 2001-02.
