Oklahoma's Jermaine Gresham has proven nearly impossible to stop on the field and on Friday in The Oklahoman's Red River Shootout on NCAA Football 10, he proved to be impossible to stop on the screen as well.

It might have been a video game, but the action and smack talk between Oklahoman staffers Jason Kersey, guiding the OU side, and Chase Colston, manning the controls for Texas, was reminiscent of a Saturday at the State Fair of Texas in the Sooners' 17-16 victory at the Cotton Bowl.

Trailing 7-0, Colston's Longhorns rallied and scored on a 4-yard run by Cody Johnson. But Texas missed the extra point with kicker Hunter Lawrence to make the score 7-6 at halftime. After the game, Colston acknowledged his kicking woes were a major factor.

"I think it's pretty obvious what cost the game for us," he said. "I am very disappointed in Hunter Lawrence and we're going to re-assess his place on this team. That's all I have to say."

After halftime, Gresham and the Sooners made sure that extra point would prove costly as Sam Bradford continued to connect with his star tight end to keep drives alive and the Longhorns at bay.

Gresham finished with eight receptions for a game-high 160 yards and a touchdown. Bradford finished 16-of-22 passing for 322 yards and two touchdowns.

Texas quarterback Colt McCoy was 10-for-20 for 189 yards with one TD and one interception.

"It was a great win for us," Kersey said. "Obviously special teams played a role. but we missed two field goals as well, so that could have really hurt us."
