Anything less than the national title would be unacceptable?
"Yeah, I’d say so,” Tway said.
Representing OSU will be Hoffmann, the nation’s top-ranked college player, sophomore Rickie Fowler (No. 8), senior Trent Leon (No. 16), freshman Peter Uihlein (No. 19) and Tway (No. 33).
The Cowboys have won their last three tournament starts and four of their last five, which includes claiming the Big 12 and the NCAA South Central Regional titles.
All five OSU players placed in the top 25 in the regional held at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater as the Cowboys cruised to a 22-stroke victory.
Tway, the No. 5-seeded player in the lineup, was regional medalist and Uihlein, the No. 4 player, finished as runner-up, one stroke back.
This will be the second NCAA Championship staged at Inverness, the previous time being in 1944.
Inverness is the same course where Tway’s father, Bob, won the 1986 PGA Championship. Bob Tway will be on hand to watch his son this week.
