LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska coach Bo Pelini says his offense and defense won't do anything fancy in Saturday's Red-White scrimmage.
With BTN televising the event, the Cornhuskers will show next to nothing so this fall's opponents gain no scouting advantage.
Quarterback Taylor Martinez probably will play on a couple of series, and a number of other starters will sit out because of injuries.
Young players will benefit most. For many it will be their first opportunity to experience a big crowd at Memorial Stadium, and they also will get a chance to make an impression in a game-day atmosphere.
Temperatures in the upper 60s and sunny skies are forecast. The scrimmage was canceled last year because of severe thunderstorms.
Officials hope for a crowd of about 60,000.
