Neighborhood association leaders have until Friday to register events associated with National Night Out, according to Neighborhood Alliance.
National Night Out, a nationwide event encouraging neighbors to get to know one another, will be Aug. 5 in Oklahoma City. National Night Out activities vary from watch patrols to cookouts to porch light vigils. Officers from police and fire departments will visit various neighborhoods. More than 50 Oklahoma City neighborhoods participated in National Night Out last year, according to Neighborhood Alliance. More than 10,000 committees from all 50 states participated nationwide. The event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and by Target stores. Leaders can register with Neighborhood Alliance at www.nacok.org or by calling 528-6322.
